Listening-mode index

Start with where the equipment meets the day

A useful shortlist begins with the listening position, the available surface and how often the equipment needs to move. These four starting points direct attention to fit and placement without making claims about sound character, battery duration or unstated connections.

Personal desk listening

Compare over-ear and on-ear contact, control reach, lead direction or charging access, then measure the space where the headphones will rest between uses.

Shared-room storage

Fold-flat headphones and compact speaker cabinets are easier to clear away, but cables, hinges, cushions and grilles still need a dry protected storage position.

Fixed shelf placement

Mark cabinet width, depth and rear clearance before choosing a speaker, keeping controls visible and connection panels accessible after it is placed.

Moveable room use

Prioritise a stable carrying point, supported operating orientation and a clear charging routine rather than relying on an unsupported portability or runtime claim.

Give every control and cable a clear side

Speaker width is only one part of placement. Check cabinet depth, supported orientation, the side used for controls, the location of charging and input access, and the extra space needed for a relaxed cable bend. Keep grilles and openings unobstructed, use a level dry surface and place moveable cabinets away from vulnerable edges.

  • Reserve 45 mm to 55 mm behind rear connection panels where stated
  • Keep top and side controls reachable after final placement
  • Use the cabinet feet to identify its supported operating orientation
  • Confirm the current source input instead of inferring a protocol

Protect cushions, grilles, controls and leads between sessions

Switch equipment off and disconnect it before cleaning or moving it. Use a soft dry cloth for routine dust, keep moisture away from controls and connection points, and let removable earpiece tips dry completely before returning them to their case. Store headphones without crushing cushions or twisting hinges, and keep speakers upright on their supported feet in a dry indoor place with clear grilles.

  • Gather leads loosely without tight coils around a cup or cabinet
  • Keep charging and input points free from dust and pressure
  • Do not stack weight on cushions, controls, grilles or folding parts
  • Recheck cables and moving parts whenever equipment is repositioned

Comparison and order board

Move from listening use to a checked basket

Treat dimensions, wearing contact, control access and connection requirements as one decision path. The checkout records the selected products, required variants, quantities and customer details for review.

  1. 01

    Name the listening position

Decide whether the equipment is worn at a desk, carried between spaces, placed on a fixed shelf or cleared away after use.

  2. 02

    Measure contact or footprint

For headphones, compare earpiece, cushion and headband dimensions; for speakers, record available width, height, depth and cable clearance.

  3. 03

    Locate controls and charging

Check that buttons, wheels, ports and covers remain reachable in the normal wearing or placement position.

  4. 04

    Verify the intended input

Use current product information or contact the company before ordering when the source connection is not explicit; do not infer support from product shape.

  5. 05

    Review and send the request

Confirm variants, quantities, GBP prices and UK customer details in the basket, then follow the order response and payment information.
